Omule : Bumbag has some really nice collaborations with local artists. Do you intend to continue on this path ? Artists you admire and you would love to collaborate with .
Ramona : This project is something in which I put a lot of soul and I feel there’s no end for it.There are a lot of beautiful talented people out there. Here’s my email address :contact@bumbagr.com .
I am open to new collaborations .I started this thing as a local project but for the last year and a half I’ve been receiving collaboration requests from Europe.
Soon I will launch a new collaboration with an artist from Barcelona. I’ll keep the name as a surprise for the moment. From Romania I would love to collaborate with Ghica Popa or with Ioana Ciolacu. I would also love to collaborate with artists like John F. Malta, Brosmind, Matt Blease, Lili des Bellons, Pieter Janssen/Piet Parra , Ben Newman, Ellen Porteus.
Omule : Five things you can’t live without.
Ramona : Oh my! I cannot live without my cats , my music , hope , love and my sewing machine.
Omule : What is the biggest enemy for your process and for your daily work?
Ramona : Time.
Omule : Goods and bads in your industry.
Ramona : Nothing to point out as a bad thing. The real struggle is my battle with laziness and maybe trying to get outside my comfort zone. Also , finding the best materials is not a simple task to do.
Omule : Favorite illustrators and favorite bands/artists
Ramona : I really admire John F.Malta , he’s as colorful as me. I’ve been listening to 6Lack for the last 2 months . All time favorites : Action Bronson , Rejjie Snow, A Tribe Called Quest , Childish Gambino , Fu Schnickens, Quasimoto , JJ Doom , and Anderson Paak (guess who told me about Paak ?!).
Omule : What is your dream project ?
Ramona : I dream about having a shop in Barcelona while working with the best illustrators.
Omule : Favorite place to eat and drink your coffee ?
Ramona : Simbio is my fav. This place managed to blow my mind. The quince garden and the maple syrup pancakes .omg ! When you sit in the sun on the wooden stairs at Steam you know you drink the best coffee in town.
Omule : What was the biggest challenge so far in your business?
Ramona : Last summer was crazy. I was working on 3 projects simultaneously and I had almost no free time. I managed to create 300 custom items in 4 weeks.
Omule : I know you really love sneakers . What’s your top 5 ? If you’ll have the opportunity to design a new sneaker silhouette , how would that be ?
Ramona : Yeah, I love sneakers !
My top five: Adidas white mountaineering sandal, Adidas NMD_R2 PK W, ACRONYM x Nike Air Presto Volt Bright Crimson , Adidas EQT Support ADV PK ,Adidas y3 retro boost black & white.
I would choose Japanese elements , smooth and thin details , water proof materials , a fit silhouette and a boost sole.
Omule : What was your favorite concert so far? Favorite bands you didn’t’ manage to see live but you would love to?
Ramona : I had no memorable concert so far. I would love to see Benjamin Clementine live.
Omule : What inspires you most?
Ramona : Everything. My work is detail driven. I am also a lifestyle stalker , I follow the trends. I try to observe people’s behavior and their needs while walking on the street or while I ride my longboard.
Omule : Do you have friends in this industry ?
Ramona : I have a lot of friends in this industry, this is the best part. All my collaborations helped me to meet interesting people who managed to develop successful businesses in the urban community. I follow a really nice streetwear brand from Timisoara : BLKN.
We are currently working on a limited edition series . You will be able to find the items in BLKN stores , starting from May .
Omule : Thank you girl.
