Cristin

Omule : Hi Cristin , tell me five things you can’t live without.
Cristin : I could not live without smiling , without cooking, without a sunny environment, without nice vibrations , without a meaning.
Omule : What was the trigger for you when you first started this journey?
Cristin : I think the first trigger was my parents’ support when I first attended the Art highschool . In the 5th grade I was already playing the contrabass and then I realised I was studying hours and hours everyday just to build my future in music.
Omule : Do you have any kind of creative patterns and routines ?
Cristin : I have no routines , I run away from monotony. I aways guide myself after my instict. If I have to pick one , then I’ll say The Wim Hoff Method. it’s quite some time since we “hang out” together. :))
Omule : Your favorite concerts so far and your favorite bands you didn’t manage to see live but you would love to.
Cristin : Prodigy at Peninsula in 2011.I have also liked Snarky Puppy in Timisoara. Since then I’ve seen so many wonderful live shows and I can definitely pick a live show of Iggy Pop.
I would love to see Daft Punk , Chic with Niles Rodgers , Anderson .Paak and almost any artist with live instruments and groovy feelings.
Omule : Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?
Cristin : Wow, discussing face to face with Zalmoxis would be quite interesting , or with any egyptian pharaoh. I’m sure I’ve always wanted a time machine :)) .
If I have to pick a musician , then Prince is the winner. I have always appreciated him as an artist.
Omule : Do you have favorite documentaries series , or podcasts?
Cristin : My favorite documentaries are Michael Tellinger’s interviews about human’s genesis.
Currently I really like Westworld . I could recommend also the movie because of its super nice vision of the 70’s .
Omule : Your favorite music festival you would love to perform at .
Cristin : I would like to play some music at Burning Man in the early morning just to have the desert’s sunrise as a partner.
Omule : Is there a particular song or musical passage that never fails to move you emotionally?
Cristin : I have a great feeling any time I listen to Incubus - Dig. That was my favorite tune in highschool when music hit me and helped me learn new things and gain new feelings , new sensations..
We are together since then.
Omule : How do you feel about the romanian music scene?
Cristin : The music scene is somehow misterious to me, most of the times my ears get a nonsense feeling of people that chose not to be in touch with themselves deeply as in creating pure stuff or thinking about the real connections music can bring.
Omule : If you would get the chance to play in a famous band , which would that be ?
Cristin : I wish I would get to play with Jay Kay and Jamiroquai in a acoustic session, it’s a dream that follows me since college , or maybe The Roots when they teamed up with Nas.. the list could go on with N.E.R.D .
Omule : A place to move right now .
Cristin : I would totally move to Bormio in Italy or New Zeeland, places where I could ride my motorcycles between mountains and nature that humankind has’t touched yet.
Omule : We had nice talks about music every time we met , tell me more about your future plans besides ROA .
Cristin : My plan is a simple feeling of exchanging good vibes thru music and dancing.. I started a project called Roman & Voloka, Roman is my friend and also a producer, Voloka is actually the place where I grew up as a kid, it’s near Vicovul de Jos, a place near the mountains and now it’s also the name of my band. Voloka also has Diana Miron as a singer and a flute and sax player called Vicentiu. We teamed up for a live experience where we improvise on tracks we produced in my studio, mostly deep house, nu-disco and lounge vibes. On 7 march we will publicly release our first EP and a series of live shows are in plan. It’s a new vibe and a new way of seing life for us and we can’t wait to share some music and some dancing.
Omule : Last but not least , tell me about your big passion about motorcycles .
Cristin : I have a crazy thought on starting paraglinding and I also rebuild motorcycles. I have this crazy passion since I was a kid.. so I made 4 untill now, different projects diffrent bikes all made in my own style.. that’s the beauty of customizing stuff.. it actually keeps you hooked. The pleasure of riding a mecanism made by human hand and controlling it as it defies gravity it’s something I can’t give up.
