“Omule : What kind of drawing tools and software do you use to design the typeface?”
“Warios : In the beginning, there is always a drawing on paper , after that, Illustrator .”
“Omule : Tell me about your passion about calligraphy.”
“Warios : Everything started with graffiti when I was a little child . When I grew up I discovered the art of calligraphy and I started to practice every day . It felt like I was under the effect of a beautiful drug .”
“Omule : Tell me , what was the trigger when you first started?”
“Warios : I started very early to do graffiti after I saw people around writing on walls and trains .It was love at first sigh,. We come from a place where there were not too many choices for young kids, so the best thing to do was drawing letters.”
“Omule : What is the relationship between fonts and our environment in general ? What kind of connections do you make ?”
“Warios : I love to see good lettering around me, I always try to draw letters that are in harmony with the surrounding environment and to integrate them with the architectural style .”
“Omule : Why do font choices matter? How do you choose a font?”
“Warios : I prefer to use fonts created by famous designers, it is very important to study the history of typography and to know how to choose a good font.”
“Omule : Do you have any favorite artists from your industry?”
“Warios : Yes, I love a lot of favorite artists, not only lettering artists but I prefer not to advertise the others too much :) Usually, I support them when buying books and prints and merch . For me it’s very important to support the artists I admire.”
“Omule : How do you see the Italian scene vs international scene regarding your industry?”
“Warios : I think in Italy we have a good graffiti scene, but regarding the lettering and calligraphy art we have a backward mentality, everything has to be very readable and traditional, there is some space for experimentation but it is very low in comparison to other countries. The audience in Italy always prefer something easy to understand... For me this is not important, I love Italy but I want to conquer the world :)”

“Warios : I’m not a “concert guy” but I think one of the best concerts I saw was Cypress Hill in an Italian festival some years ago. I Love Wu-Tang Clan and I want to see them live...other favorite artists are dead so no other occasions to see them live :)”
“Omule : What kind of books and movies do you like?”
“Warios : I really love to collect graffiti and books made by great artists world wide . I love Typography and Lettering books, I love Scorsese’s movies, Taxi Driver and Raging Bulls are cult for me, I love actors like Al Pacino and DeNiro, Sci-fi movies and Serial Killers movies... nothing like romantic comedies are allowed in my collection :)”
“Omule : Do you have favorite documentaries series , or podcasts?”
“Warios : I love Netflix and I saw a lot of good series about design . One of them is “Abstract” . I also love nature and traveling documentaries, also food series, I was really sad when we lost Antony Bourdain, his series No Reservation was great...”
“Omule : Favorite albums to listen for the rest of your life .”
“Warios : No doubt that 36 Chambers Wu-Tang is the first one for me , 2 Pac Greatest Hits, Aphex Twin Caustic window, NAS Illmatic, Notorius BIG Ready to Die.”
“Omule : What superpower would you like to have and why?”
“Warios : I want to fly, do I have to explain why??? :)”
